Where do you write?

We write everywhere that you can set down a laptop, but when school is in session and we're at home, Tom and I work in separate rooms so we can't hear who's clicking keys the fastest. We each have a desk and a computer and stacks of reference books and a door that can be closed (though it usually isn't). If I need to talk to Tom about the manuscript we're working on (or what we need to buy at the grocery store) I go downstairs. Sometimes I go downstairs just to get a snack. What's good about this arrangement is you can always tell when your co-author is taking a nap.
